Israel's military campaign against Gaza continues to devastate the Jabalia refugee camp, leaving it largely destroyed.

According to civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal, Israel's military operation in Jabalia resulted in significant destruction, including the destruction of over 1,000 homes. In response to this assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah, numerous UN experts are calling for "decisive international action," such as sanctions and an arms embargo, to be imposed on Israel. Despite the presence of thousands of troops, the loss of Palestinian lives, and the displacement of one million people, the US State Department does not consider Israel's attack on Rafah to be a "major operation." The situation in Rafah is described as an "unrelenting nightmare," with approximately 18,500 pregnant Palestinian women fleeing the city, according to a UN agency. Since October 7, the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 36,284 Palestinians and the injury of 82,057 others. In contrast, Hamas's attack has claimed the lives of at least 1,139 individuals in Israel, with several people still being held captive in Gaza.
